This week heralds one of my favorite times of the year: Thanksgiving.  It may have come around sooner than ever this year (it sure feels like it!) but what a great time to reflect on and be thankful for all that’s been accomplished this year.

Just last week, our CEO Matt Cain became one of the seven newest members of TechNet, a national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives. Through Couchbase’s work with some of the biggest household names across various industries, we bring expert insight on data’s potential to advance government and private industry initiatives. To be part of an organization that advances our country’s leadership in technology innovation is an honor to be thankful for.

The prior week, Couchbase was named one of the fastest-growing companies in North America on the Deloitte Fast 500TM list with more than 1,000% growth since 2013. It was great to see some of our customers on this list, too, as we experience explosive growth together. I am thankful to be part of the fastest-growing enterprise database company in the world–one that is helping companies unleash the power of data to foster their own tremendous growth. I’m looking forward to seeing more of our customers on the list next year.

At the end of October, we hosted Couchbase Connect SV – our annual west coast user conference – at the San Jose Convention Center.  A record-breaking 16 customers (we couldn’t stop them!) presented in the event alongside more than 30 technical and business sessions, and several full and half-day workshops. We launched the latest version of the Couchbase Data Platform, which includes the GA of Couchbase Server 5.0 and Couchbase Mobile 1.5.  Several journalists and analysts attended the event and spoke with our customers and partners, resulting in some great media coverage; it’s fantastic to see how Couchbase technology is changing lives (and industries) around the world.

As I think back over 2017, I’m struck by the accelerating momentum in our business, and the increasing industry recognition of a company that is truly revolutionizing customer engagement.  We were honored by the readers of Datanami in September, when they voted us:

  1. Best Big Data Product or Technology in the Operational Platform (NoSQL) category
  2. Top Big Data Achievement with the GE Predix implementation of Couchbase Mobile
  3. Top 5 Vendors to Watch, and
  4. Top 5 Open Source Projects to Watch.

We were also:

It’s one thing to be thankful, it’s another to actually say thank you to the people who made it all happen!  So hats off and a sincere thank you to the wonderful team at Couchbase, and all our amazing partners and customers: we really appreciate your support and confidence in us as we change the world and start a revolution together!
