Today, Forrester Research Inc. has recognized Couchbase as a Leader in its “The Forrester Wave™: Big Data NoSQL, Q1 2019.” [download here]

Recognition from Forrester is a great honor, because when they say something, the industry sits up and pays attention. I want to thank the team and everyone at Couchbase for this achievement – you are the ones who make it all happen!

Forrester evaluates organizations and measures them against exacting criteria that positions them in the market and also in relation to each other. We received the top scores possible for our ability to execute, open source, technical support, market awareness, and reach in this Forrester Wave™ report.

As you know, our mission is to be the NoSQL database that revolutionizes digital innovation. As such, we continuously drive the simplification and automation of complex challenges for customers, especially as enterprises face growing pressure to deliver high-performance, scalable, and easy data access for their business-critical applications.

NoSQL has become critical for all businesses to support these mission-critical business applications. Each enterprise has a unique set of requirements, and although database technology has evolved during the past decade to become more agile and flexible to adapt to today’s schemaless data structure (NoSQL), it is not “one size fits all.”

The database space is inherently horizontal; every enterprise needs a database. NoSQL has already disrupted the database market, which has been led for decades by relational database vendors. Now, a staggering number of data and analytics TDMs have employed or will employ NoSQL platforms, leveraging the benefits of a flexible database that can be applied to a wide array of use cases.

We built Couchbase to be the most powerful NoSQL technology, and we deliver unparalleled performance at scale from the cloud to the edge, with unmatched agility, manageability and cloud portability (multi-cloud). We are proud of the truly cloud native NoSQL database Couchbase has brought to market and what we’ll continue to bring, based on what our customers tell us and what we anticipate our customers will need.

I’m privileged to be a team member and a part of what we’re doing in this company. It’s an extremely exciting time to be where we are today, in the space we’re in. With such a timely honor from Forrester, which is a great validation by our customer, partners and developers, I can truly say it’s the best place to be.
