Hacking Generation Y
The Journey Begins with your first Hackathon and for many students this weekend at HackGenY is an experience of a life time. The Couchbase team was working around the clock to provide in-person and online mentorship support throughout the event. Students poured in from around the country to Hack!
The day began with lectures and workshops. Students attended cutting edge technology introductions with topics ranging from Machine Learning to Mobile development. Wayne Carter presented Couchbase Mobile to a packed student audience that were eager to try the Couchbase Mini-Hack tutorials and use the cool sync-ing solution in their mobile apps. Couchbase Mobile is simple to use and allows everyone to focus on creating rich mobile UI and UX features.
Soon after, students hundled into their teams and started designing their weekend hack project to present to the judges. Amazing ideas were discussed with the Couchbase mentors and soon each team member were busy focusing on creating their hack solutions. From wearables to flying drones, from classroom education tools to the next hit social media app, students from across the teams soon realized just how amazing Couchbase Mobile is as the technology allows them to develop faster and create their dream applications over just a weekend.
Into the night, line by line.. code were pouring out of the students as they relentness and tirelessly work on their projects. Android Developers were in the making and bonds were forged amongst the team members while Hideki, Couchbase’s Mobile Engineer, was excitedly helping teams to get up and running.
