Navigating around New York City is an adventure on its own and many times you may stumbled across many hidden surprises such as the  boutique shop carrying Egyptian fragrances or the Toby’s Estate coffee shop that is secretly nested in a clothing store over in Flatiron District.

But many other times more often than not, we really need our mobile devices for navigating around the Big Apple and finding those great city delights.  Unfortunately, New York City is not the best in terms of providing network coverage for your mobile app experiences.  From riding the MTA Subways to sight-seeing the concrete jungle with millions of commuters each day, mobile applications are constantly having broken experiences due to unavailable connections.

But those broken experiences are actually solvable and on October 6th, we will learn how to “Create Offline Secure Mobile Applications” at Couchbase Live New York.

There will be technical mobile sessions throughout the day on how to get started with using Couchbase Mobile to enable your applications to function offline and sync to the cloud.

We will start the day with Wayne Carter, Chief Architect of Mobile, and Couchbase Mobile’s Product Marketing Manager, Ali LeClerc on what is Couchbase Mobile and introduce us to how we can create better mobile applications.  Then myself and Wayne will be hosting the “Birds of a Feather” Mobile tables where you may join us over lunch before we learn from Michael Hart and the GE team’s experiences with using Couchbase Mobile.

In the afternoon, we will have a 101 session on Couchbase Lite, the embedded database that is on your mobile device and learn “How to Build Your First App” using Couchbase Mobile. This would be interesting for those wishing to get started on Couchbase Mobile and I will go over the features to investigate.  From there we will dive into Couchbase Sync Gateway in our 102 session, where I will talk about “How to Add Secure Sync to your Mobile application.”  We will round out the day with how to enable the Peer-to-Peer feature of Couchbase Mobile in the 103 session with Austin Gonyou, where you can create unique social in-app experiences by “Building a Peer-to-Peer App with Couchbase Mobile.”

The Couchbase Mobile sessions are listed below but you may also find other great Couchbase topics hosted by the team over at the full Couchbase Live New York schedule.
