Couchbase NoSQL Meetup in Tel Aviv
It’s been a while since I got to feel the “techy” Israel. Since I moved to Silicon Valley a decade ago, I haven’t had much chance to meet and talk with the people behind Israel’s great entrepreneurial success. This visit was different. I met engineers and leaders from rapidly growing startups to more mature and public companies. All these people are very tech savvy, eager to succeed, and stay in touch with cutting-edge technologies that help them solve non trivial problems.
It was a great privilege to be the one to introduce Couchbase NoSQL technology to this amazing group of technologists - it was a packed house (photos are here.) For those who didn't get to attend, my slides from the meetup are below for your reference.
Special thanks to our customer and host MediaMind, and Avner from IGT cloud who sponsored the meetup. The people at MediaMind were great; Efi, Orit, and the rest of the team made me feel at home. I loved the design of their new offices. The thing that made me feel really good was listening to MediaMind’s use case and why they chose our solution. It was a great presentation, with great performance graphs – even better than we saw in our performance labs. We are doing everything we can to keep our customers happy and we are committed to continue doing so with MediaMind.
We really didn’t know what to expect on our first visti to Israel, and were overwhelmed with the response; throughout the presentation I gave, people were engaged, asked good questions, and made it feel like a conversation, including a midnight beer with one of the attendees. I truly hope that this is the beginning of a great relationship with the technical community in Israel!
Israel, I’ll see you again at CouchConf Israel on Dec 19th, can’t wait..
