Couchbase on Azure Made Easier: Deploy Couchbase Server on Azure from VM Image Depot

Are you looking to deploy Couchbase Server on Azure. If you are using Ubuntu, deployment just got a little easier. I have a new image of Couchbase Server 2.5.1 on Ubuntu 12. Here is a direct link to the image that is available in all Azure data centers around the world. You can provision this image in your subscription on Azure and simply hit its admin console once it is ready: http://public_IP:8091 and you are good to go with Couchbase Server.

1. Go to Azure Portal. Click on Virtual Machines on the left and go over to Images at the top. You will see the VM Depot icon.

The Brose VM Button is at the bottom center of the images screen.

2. Scroll to Couchbase Server on the List

3. Select your subscription and storage accounts and you are all set.

Quick word of caution: If you are going to use the VM for development purposes, it should work perfectly fine for you. If you are looking to use the VM to deploy a production cluster, Id recommend further reading material: Few tricks to getting Couchbase on Ubuntu+Azure right. Also note that this image is not part of the supported list of facilities that is part of the Couchbase Server product. It is intended to make it easier to work with Couchbase Server. Please use it at your own risk.
